| The everlasting gobstopper, 2005 |
| Jeff Eisenberg
|
| 1min 23sec |
One in a series of short soundscapes, each created entirely with my own voice, that are part of an audio tour created for a series of drawings. It is all part of a larger body of work that includes drawings created from elaborate lists of automatic writing--an old Surrealist writing game. Initially, each drawing was made from a list, generated through automatic writing and then drawn to look like some kind of fantastical engineered environment. After finishing the drawings I got the idea to do an audio tour for the drawings in the form of engineered soundscapes—the inspiration for each soundscape would come from the same lists of automatic writing used for the drawings. The purpose of the audio tour is not to explain each drawing, but rather to expand on the theme of an engineered environment. I see The audio tour is not reaaly seen as separate, but a sibling to the drawings. |

| Break, 2006 |
| Kyle Miller |
| 3min 42sec |
| Break is a device that describes the short comings in our ability to communicate with each other. The audio conbines words normally used as filler, suggesting we are just waiting to talk rather than really listening to what another has to say. |

| Bodycast , 2008 |
| Anton Mobin |
| 2min 20sec |
An intimate soundwork between the sleep, the nightmare, hunger, the digestion and maybe pain.
The sounds of our body resound in all our being.
Best if listened to on a quite decent sound-system |

| Lucky there is an avant-garde, you and me |
| Wes Kline |
| 4min 33sec |
Two utopias through particles. This piece is constructed from field recordings made in the Galapagos islands, focusing primarily on the town centers, which are becoming increasingly populated to support the tourism infrastructure. The recordings are then combined with text from a statement by Carl Andre, the minimalist sculptor and critic.
Best experienced with headphones.

| Revolution (gargles in the rat-race choir), 2006 |
Alyce Santoro
|
| 2min 49sec |
| During a residency at Blue Mountain Center in upstate New York in 2006,
I was given a studio containing a broken turntable and a pile of old
records. Every album would skip at random when played, creating stunning,
eerie loops. This work was created by playing the song "It's
Alright Ma" by Bob Dylan and gently nudging the needle at varying
intervals. |

| Callm,2008 |
| Lindsey Allgood |
| 3min 20sec |
Composed entirely of my voice and mouth while sitting alone in my bedroom, this piece aims to invoke calmness in the listener, in whatever image that may conjure. Creating this piece was a therapeutic endeavor for myself, exploring the concept of rhythm and uninhibited sounding as cathartic and soothing. The work conjures images of whales drifting and calling to each other, grieving, tribal chants, or a mother rocking a crying infant to sleep. Whatever the manifestation, Callm was a process to create and is a process to hear.
This piece is best received with earphones, in a quiet space, with eyes closed. |
